Pastor George Pearsons

Sunday Outline – July 16, 2023

Last Sunday, we recognized Pastor George’s 70th birthday.

Birthday Challenges…

  • Facing a birthday can be hard for many; especially when it is a new decade.
  • Many deal with feelings of disbelief and fear.
  • “I am going to be how old?”
  • “How much longer will I live?”

James 1:1; (AMPC)

“James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes scattered abroad [among the Gentiles in the dispersion]: Greetings (rejoice)!”

Every day, year, decade, and throughout this life is all a gift from God. Live a day at a time and enjoy (rejoice) as this is the plan of the Lord.

Pastor George shared,

“The Lord has been ministering to me about turning 70.”

sōzō (Greek word for Salvation).

Sozo is often translated as “save, heal, make whole, and to deliver.” Salvation means more than simply being saved to go to heaven when you die. To be biblically saved means there are also earthly effects on our lives today. Not only are you free from the judgement and wrath of God, this salvation also includes the ability to resist temptations to sin in a pursuit of Christ-likeness, to be set free from demonic attacks and oppression, and to receive healing in our physical bodies.

John 3:16; (KJV)

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Everlasting life refers to eternity with Jesus. Many people don’t realize this verse also refers to our life on earth. The length of our life and the quality of our life.

Psalm 90:10; (KJV, then NLT)

“Seventy years are given to us! Some even live to eighty. But even the best years are filled with pain and trouble; soon they disappear, and we fly away.”

Many have the misconception that our span of life should only be seventy or eighty years and are filled with pain and trouble.  The blessing of the Lord has freed me from the curse.

AMPC footnote

This psalm is credited to Moses as he is interceding with God. He was asking to remove the curse which made it necessary for every Israelite over twenty years of age to die before reaching the promised land. Moses said most of them are dying at seventy years of age.

Genesis 3:10; (KJV)

Choose long life no matter what your current age is! This number has often been mistaken as a set span of life for all mankind. It was not intended to refer to anyone except those Israelites under the curse during that forty years. Seventy years is not the average span of life for humanity.

When Jacob had reached 130 years, he complained that he had not attained to the years of his immediate ancestors.

  • Moses lived to be 120.
  • Aaron was 123.
  • Miriam was several years older.
  • Joshua was 110 years of age.

Genesis 6:3;

“And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.”

Proverbs 4:10; (NIV)

“Listen, my son, accept what I say, and the years of your life will be many.”

Proverbs 9:11; (NLT)

“Wisdom will multiply your days and add years to your life.”

Proverbs 10:27; (NLT)

“Fear of the LORD lengthens one’s life.”

Pastor George shared with his busy schedule, he intensely exercises at least three times a week, along with eating correctly and taking the Word of God as Proverbs 9:11 states; these add longevity to his life.

A partner handed this note to Pastor George at a Victory Campaign: “I work for a major insurance company. I write life insurance policies. We now have a policy that goes up to 120 years called ‘A Lifetime Policy.’”

Psalm 91:16; (KJV)

“With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.”

Satisfy (Hebrew) To be fulfilled in every way.

Salvation (Hebrew) Deliverance, health, help, victory, prosperity — everything we need to live.

The Lord wants us to live long and strong.

The older I am, I act better, I sound better, and I look better!

Deuteronomy 34:7; (KJV))

“And Moses was an hundred and twenty years old when he died: his eye was not dim, nor his natural force abated.”

(Darby) His eyesight was still good and his body was still strong.

(MSG) His eyesight was sharp; he still walked with a spring in his stop.

Psalm 92:12-14;

“The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing.”

Notice there is no expiration date.  The word, ‘retire’ does not appear in the Bible as that has never been God’s plan.   You continue to run the race which God has ordained and equipped you to run until your race is complete.

v. 14 (GW) They are always healthy and fresh.

(NRSV) In old age they still produce fruit; they are always green and full of sap.

Pastor George heard the Spirit say; “You will accomplish more in the next ten years that you have in your entire life.”

Proverbs 3:1-2; (AMPC)

“My son, forget not my law or teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments; For length of days and years of a life [worth living] and tranquility [inward and outward and continuing through old age till death] these shall they add to you.”

v. 2 (MSG) They’ll help you live a long, long time, a long life lived full and well.

Job 5:26; (CEV)

“You will life a long life, and your body will be strong until the day you die.”

From, “The Power of Believing for Long Life” by Kenneth Copeland. In Genesis 6:3, God needs us here no less than 120 years. Believers are dying off anywhere between the ages of 70 and 90 leaving a “Revelation Gap” of 30 to 50 years. Believers are not living long enough in the earth to receive certain revelations from heaven that need to be in the Body of Christ. It is God’s will for us to live 120 years. If we will believe it, receive it, and walk in it, He will renew our youth. He will cause us to make progress, stretch our faith and move us up into the greater blessing. He will move us in His power and financial realm to where we are qualified to step into certain things of the Spirit.

Some hear this and say, “I thought Jesus was coming soon. What good does it do me to believe for 120 years?”

There is a level of faith in believing for 120 years that will supersede the level of surrender to your physical body. Let’s say Jesus was coming in a year or two. By believing for 120 years, you would have already stepped out on a level of faith that would make you more powerful, more valuable to Jesus, more valuable to the Body of Christ, and more valuable to your family. It would put you in a place of faith to get your job done before that hour comes.

You will live stronger believing for 120 years than believing you are going to die in the next few years. Believing for 120 years will pull your faith up and out of your sickness. Even if Jesus comes tomorrow, live like you were going to be here 120 years. Press for it! You will be amazed at how strong you will function when you exercise your faith for the full 120 years.

It makes all the difference when you confess, “He fills my mouth with good things and renews my youth like the eagles.”

“For believers, every new decade comes with a new anointing.”

— Kenneth Copeland

Psalm 103:1-5;

Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.

Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not one of all his covenant benefits.

He forgives all my iniquities.

He heals all my diseases.

He redeems my life from destruction and corruption.

He crowns me with lovingkindness and tender mercies.

He satisfies my mouth with good things so that my youth is renewed like the eagle’s — strong, overcoming and soaring.

Confession:

I refuse to think old. I am going to think young.

I refuse to act old. I am going to act young.

I refuse to talk old. I am going to talk young.

Don’t get caught telling jokes of old people or making sounds that are equated with old people, i.e., grunting when you sit in a chair or out of a chair, or sighing when you sit down.

Don’t dress like an old person – looking like you don’t care any longer.

Psalm 103:5; (MSG)

He wraps you in goodness—beauty eternal. He renews your youth —you’re always young in His presence.

Joshua 14:10-12; (NASB 1977)

And now behold, the Lord has let me live, just as He spoke, these forty-five years, from the time that the Lord spoke this word to Moses, when Israel walked in the wilderness; and now behold, I am eighty-five years old today. I am still as strong today as I was on the day Moses sent me; as my strength was then, so my strength is now, for war and for going out and coming in. Now then, give me this hill country!

Food to my soul … yes indeed! The very scriptures here are exactly what I have been speaking over my life for the last 6 years. I am a septugenarian (70 plus and am a testimonial to the truth, retention, prowess, regenerative and restorative power of God’s word. Hallelujah! I have been a partner with this ministry for over 40 years and Brother Copeland spoke these words to me in a dream “God told me to tell you to put pressure on His word. That was 6 years ago. I haven’t stopped. However, as I emphatically speak the word of God, severe opposition arises from the enemy – in my finances, my body and mental state. That doesn’t stop me and I eventually come through as “more than a conqueror”. Amen
