Radiant Happenings! May 4th

Recently my husband and I went away for a week of vacation. We didn't go anywhere special, but to a humble location, where we could be alone with God. It was GOOD! In that tiny farmhouse, God took us back to Genesis and reminded us that of all the words He could have used to describe what He had created, He chose the word GOOD

While there are lots of commentaries on the significance of the word "good", or why God used it, for us – in that tiny farmhouse, with the trees and foliage all around, the birds singing, and the sound of the breeze blowing – the word "good" expressed in perfect simplicity yet profoundness, the completeness… the PEACE we were experiencing. In that one word – GOOD – everything was said that needed to be said, everything that needed to be understood, was understood.

In light of that revelation, it has me pausing to look at what other words have I glossed over that appear to be simple, yet are profound in their simplicity. One of those words is righteousness. But let's look at it within the context of scripture:

"For our sake He made Christ [virtually] to be sin Who knew no sin, so that in and through Him we might become [endued with, viewed as being in, and examples of] the righteousness of God [what we ought to be, approved and acceptable and in right relationship with Him, by His goodness].” 2 Corinthians 5:21 (AMPC)

Do you see what I'm seeing after what I shared about the word "good"? While the Amplified Classic expounds on the word righteousness for us, even if it didn't, we would be able to sum up all that word is needing to say and to have understood. In the word RIGHTEOUSNESS, we are essentially the GOODness of God! But not of ourselves – it is through Christ we have become RIGHTEOUSNESS – the GOODness of God!!
