Radiant Happenings! March 21st

What a POWERFUL time we had at Radiant this past Thursday!! If you missed it, do yourself a favor and watch it!! God SHOWED UP!! You can find it here: March Radiant Service

Now for this week's verse in Proverbs 2:

"If you seek [Wisdom] as for silver and search for skillful and godly Wisdom as for hidden treasures," Proverbs 2:4 (AMPC)

The way to find wisdom is to go after it with the same effort and desire that natural people go after material wealth. The truth is, no one ever seeks after God with all their heart without finding Him.

Listen to what the Kesuvim / The Writings (Mishlei/Proverbs) on pg. 15 say about verse four:

Vs. 4 "If you seek it as [if it were] silver. This is the forth prerequisite for chochmah: Just as a person works hard to earn silver – i.e., money – so must he toil in pursuit of chochmah (R' Yonah). Just as one tries hard to safeguard his assets, so must he take care not to lose his Torah knowledge. Chochmah is as hard to acquire as gold, but it is as fragile as glass (Yalkut Shimoni). Silver ore is underground and requires strenuous mining to recover it. If that is worth the effort, surely the pursuit of wisdom is worth no less (Radak).

If you search for it [as if it were] hidden treasures. This is the last of R' Yonah's five prerequisites. A person must enjoy the quest for Torah just as he enjoys digging for a treasure that he knows will yield him great wealth. The more pleasant a person finds this toil, the more he will succeed in his learning. Success in Torah study is directly related to the desire and eagerness to attain it (R' Yonah)."
