Pastor George on Sunday ministered,

America — Remember Your Covenant.”

1 Chronicles 16:14-15; (KJV)

“He is the LORD our God; his judgments are in all the earth. Be ye mindful always of his covenant; the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.”

Verse 15 (NKJV) “REMEMBER His covenant forever.”

In spite of what we are currently seeing in our government, the United States of America is not going to fail! Our founding explorers and our founding fathers made covenants with God over our nation. Those covenants still stand today!

The Founding Explorers Made Covenants with God

The 1607 Covenant. They dedicated our nation to the glory of God. They placed a wooden cross on Virginia Beach and prayed…

“We do hereby dedicate this Land, and ourselves, to reach the People within these shores with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and to raise up Godly generations after us. And, with these generations, take the Kingdom of God to all the earth. May this covenant of Dedication remain to all generations, as long as this earth remains. And, may this Land, along with England, be Evangelist to the World. May all who see this Cross, remember what we have done here. And, may those who come here to inhabit join us in this COVENANT and in this most noble work that the Holy Scriptures may be fulfilled.”

The 1620 Mayflower Covenant. The pilgrims left England for religious freedom. Upon arrival at Cape Cod Bay, they wrote this…

“In the Name of God, Amen. We, whose names are underwritten, the Loyal Subjects of our dread sovereign Lord King James, by the grace of God, of Great Britain, France and Ireland, King and defender of the faith. Having undertaken for the glory of God, and advancement of the Christian faith, and the honor of our King and Country, a voyage to plant the first Colony in the northern parts of Virginia. Do by these present, solemnly, and mutually in the presence of God and one another, covenant and combine ourselves together into a civil body politick.”

Whenever we see something crazy in this world, we should remind ourselves that we have a covenant with God.

God’s Word remains the Foundation of American Independence

By 1774, British aggression and tyranny was accelerating. The thirteen colonies were struggling under the King of England’s rule. It became so serious that the Continental Congress met together to discuss America’s future.

John Adams wrote this to his wife on the first day of the meeting:

“We not only prayed, but we studied four chapters of the Bible. I must beg of you Abigail. Read the thirty-fifth Psalm to your friends. Read it to your father. The Congress spent three hours in prayer at our first meeting. A sermon was preached on Psalm 35. Then, we proclaimed a continental fast. Millions will be upon their knees at once before their Great Creator, imploring His forgiveness and blessings and His smiles on American council and arms.”

Psalm 35:1-2; (KJV)

“Plead my cause, O LORD, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me. Take hold of shield and buckler and stand up for mine help.”

This was the first of fifteen times that the Congress called the nation to prayer, fasting, and thanksgiving. On Tuesday, July 2, 1776 (247 years ago), Congress voted to approve a complete separation from Great Britain.

“The volume that we consulted more than any another was the Bible.” — Roger Sherman, a signer of the Declaration.

On Thursday, July 4, the early draft of the declaration was signed.

On Monday, July 8, members of the Congress took the document and read it aloud from the steps of independence hall.

The last statement of the declaration reads,

“And for the support of this declaration, with the firm reliance of the protection of Divine providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.”

The revolutionary war ended in 1783. A peace treaty was signed between the United States and Great Britain. In large letters, the statement at the top of the page shouted,

In the name of the most holy & undivided Trinity.

The very foundation of our country was consecrated to a triune God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

George Washington was inaugurated on Thursday, April 30, 1789.

The first president set precedent. A covenant took place on that day. Brother Copeland taught this at the recent Ohio Flashpoint event. He was under a powerful anointing as a prophet to our nation. Here are Brother Copelands words about remembering our covenants.

“I founded Israel because I loved people and made them a great nation to bring forth the Messiah, the Savior of the world. But the United States of America was founded because people loved me and sought to create a nation where they could have freedom to worship me.”

[The word given to one of KCM Partners]

Brother Copeland began by stating, This Bible is a book of blood covenants. And every time you see the word covenant in it, remember the blood!

A blood agreement is the most serious agreement known to mankind. To break it either means death or exile. That's what happened to Cain because murder was not illegal at that time.

Exodus 2:24; (NIV)

"During that long period, the king of Egypt died. The Israelites groaned in their slavery and cried out, and their cry for help because of their slavery went up to God. God heard their groanings. God remembered His covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and with Jacob."

That didn't mean God forgot the covenant; rather it is somebody reminding Him.

Leviticus 26:40, 42;

“But if they confess their iniquity and the iniquity of their fathers in their treachery that they committed against me, and also in walking contrary to me, They are admitting their iniquity in their treachery against God. Their failure to listen to God, their disregard for God is considered treasonous.”

“I will remember my covenant with Jacob and my covenant with Isaac and my covenant with Abraham, and I will remember the land.”

Remember, there's blood involved in this.

Genesis 15 records the first covenant which was the blood of animals. It's a tremendous thing to read, meditate, and study. I'm convinced that Abram saw God's footprint in the blood of those animals, and in the way it was done, they were split down the spine. Notice, I will remember…

Deuteronomy 4:31; (NIV)

“For the LORD your God is a merciful God; he will not abandon or destroy you or forget the covenant with your ancestors, which he confirmed to them by oath.”

Did you get that Word? He swore unto them. That's is as strong of a language as you can imagine. How do you use this? Every prayer must be based solidly on a covenant with God. I had the Lord say to me, “Let My Word fight its own fight. He said, start with the answer to the prayer. So, you have to meditate the Word, and meditate these covenants and find out where that's located.”

1 Samuel 17. I want you to watch David use this covenant. This is the reason that David was a man after God's own heart; and we, believers can be too.

v. 32, David said to Saul that no man's heart fail because of him. Your servant will go out and fight this Philistine. Saul said to David, you're not able to go against this Philistine to fight him. Listen to the difference between Saul and David. “You're but a youth.” He's a man of war from his youth. David said unto the King, Thy servant kept his father's sheep. There came a lion, and a bear that took a lamb out of the flock, and I went out after them and smote them and delivered the lamb out of each of their mouths. And when they rose against me, I caught the Lion by his beard and smote him and killed him. Your servant slew both the lion, and this uncircumcised Philistine. That bear didn't have a covenant, that lion didn't have a covenant, but I did. And because of my covenant with Almighty God, I had the strength and the power to kill both the lion and the bear. And this uncircumcised Philistine is no different than a lion and a bear, and I'm going to kill him.

We're not done yet. The Philistine said unto David, am I a dog that you come to me with staves. The Philistine cursed David by his gods. The Philistine said to David, come to me. I'll give your flesh to the fouls of the air and to the breasts of the field. David said to the Philistine; you come to me with a sword, and a spirit, with a shield. I come to you in the Name of the Lord of Hosts. Now he's invoked the angels into this. This man knows his covenant with God, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.

1 Samuel 17:46;

"This day the LORD will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel."

When the Philistine rose against David, David ran towards him. There's no “Hollywood jazz.” He just headed out after him. Sling in hand — I love him.

David put his hand in his bag, took a stone and slung it with divine accuracy. It smote the Philistine on his forehead, and the stone sunk into his forehead and he fell on his face to the earth. David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling, with a stone, and smote the Philistine. There was no sword in the hand of David. Therefore, he ran, stood on the Philistine, drew Goliaths' sword from its sheath, and cut off his head. When the Philistines saw their champion was dead. They said, “Hey, let's get outta here.”

When the Israelites returned from chasing the Philistines, they plundered their camp. David took the Philistine's head and brought it to Jerusalem; he put the Philistine's weapons in his own tent. (1 Samuel 17:51-54).

The Lord asked me years ago; Who made David King? I said, Samuel. He said, no Goliath. He said, he's my man. And he knew his covenant, and he knew how to use it.

Ephesians 2:10-11; (AMPC)

“For we are God's [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live]. Therefore, remember that at one time you were Gentiles (heathens) in the flesh, called Uncircumcision by those who called themselves Circumcision, [itself a mere mark] in the flesh made by human hands.”

The Apostle Paul said; Have faith in the blood. Remember both Moses and Peter the Apostle said, A day with God is as a thousand years and a thousand years as a day. The day was April the 30th, 1789. This was a day of making covenant with Almighty God for the United States of America. A proclamation that was made for the sacred gathering at Federal Hall. Come and see your president, taking his oath and praying that God will accept this land as his 234 years. That's 15 minutes ago to God.

At 9:00 AM the bells rang throughout the city. George Washington made his official oath of office in New York City. He laid his hands on the Bible. The 17th chapter of Genesis speaks of the covenant God made with Abram. When Abram was 90 years old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram and said unto him, I am the Almighty God. I am El Shaddai, I am the God who's more than enough.

This refers to a nurse, a mother nursing a child. There was a time when Gloria was everything to Kelly. She was the oldest, and then Gloria was everything to John. She was their food. She could understand them when I had no idea what they were talking about. While I was in class at ORU, they were there at home. So, she was with those children all the time seeing to their every need. That's what God just said to Abram. Walk before me and be blameless. I will make my covenant between me and thee and will multiply thee exceedingly. Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him. As for Me, My covenant is with thee. And thou shalt be a father of many nations. Neither shall your name anymore be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham for a father of many nations have I made thee. God changed his name. The H for the Hebrew letter ‘Hey’ in the middle of his name is HaShem. The H means “Yod He Vav He”

Genesis 17:4-10;

“As for Me, behold, My covenant is with you, And [as a result] you shall be the father of many nations.

No longer shall your name be Abram (exalted father), But your name shall be Abraham (father of a multitude); For I will make you the father of many nations.

I will make you exceedingly fruitful, and I will make nations of you, and kings will come from you.

I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your descendants after you. I will give to you and to your descendants after you the land in which you are a stranger [moving from place to place], all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession [of property]; and I will be their God.”

Further, God said to Abraham, “As for you [your part of the agreement], you shall keep and faithfully obey [the terms of] My covenant, you and your descendants after you throughout their generations.

This is [the sign of] My covenant, which you shall keep and faithfully obey, between Me and you and your descendants after you: Every male among you shall be circumcised."

This is the passage that George Washington read. Notice God talked to him about the nation. So, Abraham, Isaac, a special child, then Jacob, another name change. It is not the state of Jacob, it is the state of Israel. He went through a process to receive it.

All of that was pointing to Jesus, to get Jesus here. All of these blood covenants, sworn oaths, the thing that the Lord laid on my heart, Washington invoked his oath and covenant under the Lord and sealed it with, “so help me God.” He bowed his knee to the ground in reverence and kissed the Bible. Afterward, Washington called the senators and newly elected officials to join him. And they walked arm in arm down the street of New York to the chapel. There they bowed together, prayed, and dedicated this land, our beloved America to God.

The day that George Washington was inaugurated was the day this covenant was invoked. America belongs to God!

I pray multiple times a day for my partners… But when I pray for this nation, I say, Lord, remember your covenant. So, Abram, who became Abraham, Isaac, Jacob who became Israel, and finally Jesus, and other covenants along the way to the covenant with the United Stated (from the words and writings of George Washington).

Here's the point > First covenants count because everything else is based on that. The nation of Israel is based on what God said to Abraham. This nation, particularly to Christian people, should be completely, totally based on what George Washington said to Jesus. The first act of Congress was to enter covenant with the Almighty God based on the book of Genesis.

"I now make it my earnest prayer, that God would have you, and the State over which you preside, in his holy protection, that he would incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government, to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another, for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field, and finally, that he would most graciously be pleased to dispose us all, to do Justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility and pacific temper of mind, which were the Characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without an humble imitation of whose example in these things, we can never hope to be a happy Nation."

Circular to the States – Sunday, June 8, 1783

This would be a suitable prayer to pray in churches across this land. We could set ourselves in agreement with that. When you pray for the nation, the first President prayed…

"And now Almighty Father, if it is Your holy will, that we shall obtain a place and a name among the nations of the earth. Grant, that we may be able to show our gratitude for Your goodness by our endeavors to fear, and obey, and bless us with Your wisdom in our counsel, success in battle, that our victories be tempered with humanity. Also endow our enemies with enlightened minds that they may become sensible of their injustice, willing to restore our liberty and peace. Grant the petition of thy servant for the sake of whom thou has called thy beloved son. Nevertheless, not my will, but thy, God."

When Ronald Reagan took the oath of office, he turned to the 17th chapter of Genesis. He obtained this from George Washington; First President, first Congress, first covenant.

The first act of government was to enter a divine covenant with the Almighty God. Genesis 6:3, the days of man shall be 120 years. You come to Psalm 91 with long life. We don't have any right to just pick what long life is, because God said it was 120 years, not 70 or 80.

Therefore, all the food laws are based on 120 years. That's the way the Bible works. Our nation began with an act of obedience to the written Word of the Living God, and the first President and the first Congress, all the elected officials went to the chapel right there in New York City. After 9-11, it's the only thing that stood and it became a harbor for the wounded.

Our country was born. And in my opinion, right now, it's being born again. Thank you, Glory to God.

A Prayer of Covenant Remembrance,

by Pastor George

Father, we come before you in the Name above every name — the Name of Jesus. We stand before You calling to remembrance the Covenants made for this nation. We remember the covenants of the past. We invoke those covenants now. We remember what You said in 1 Chronicles 16:14-15. You are the Lord our God. Your judgements are in all the earth. We are mindful always of Your covenant which was the word You commanded to a thousand generations.

We remember today the 1607 Virginia Beach Covenant. They placed a cross on the beach marking the land for God. They prayed and declared,

And may this land, along with England, be evangelist to the world.

May all who see this cross, remember what we have done here. And may those who come here to inhabit join us in this covenant and in this most noble work that the Holy Scriptures may be fulfilled.”

We remember today the 1620 Mayflower Covenant in which the Pilgrims wrote,

“In the Name of God, Amen. We, whose names are underwritten, the loyal subjects of our dread Sovereign Lord King James, by the grace of God, of Great Britain, France and Ireland, King and Defender of the Faith. Having undertaken for the glory of God, and advancement of the Christian faith, and the Honor of our King and Country, a Voyage to plant the first colony in the northern parts of Virginia. Do by these Present, solemnly and mutually in the Presence of God and one another, Covenant and combine ourselves together into a civil body politick.”

We remember today the 1776 Covenant our Founding Fathers wrote in the Declaration of Independence. The final sentence reads,

“And for the support of this Declaration, with the firm reliance of the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.”

We remember today the 1783 prayer that George Washington prayed over our nation.

“I now make it my earnest prayer, that God would have you and the State over which you preside, in His holy protection that He would incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government. To entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another, for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large and particularly for their brethren who have served in the field.

And finally, that He would most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do Justice, to love mercy and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility and pacific (peaceable) temper of mind. (These) were the Characteristics of the Divine Author of our Blessed Religion. Without a humble imitation of whose example in these things, we can never hope to be a happy Nation.”

We remember what George Washington said when he was inaugurated as President in 1789.

“No People can be bound to acknowledge and adore the invisible hand which conducts the Affairs of men, more than the People of the United States.”

We believe the United States of America will stand strong as long as we remember our covenants. She will not fail or be morally destroyed. We plead the precious blood of our covenant over this nation. To purify it, cleanse it and bring it solidly back to her Biblical roots. We take dominion over corruption and devious acts to destroy our liberty.

We are not moved by what we see. We choose to only be moved by faith in God’s Word. We remember today that America is STILL in Covenant with Almighty God.

We remember today that Jesus is still Lord over the United States of America.

Amen.
