In the thick of this Christmas season, pressure can begin to mount as we begin preparations for Christmas parties, dinners, traveling to be with family or close friends, and of course the purchasing of numerous gifts that will be given. It’s in those moments where we must make a purposeful and concerted effort not to get focused on these natural things, but to do as Pastor George Pearsons spoke about this past Sunday, November 27th, during service, and put the Word of God first place. Look at this AWESOME scripture from the Apostle Paul!!
“Don’t be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering your faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude. Tell him every detail of your life, 7then God’s wonderful peace that transcends human understanding, will guard your heart and mind through Jesus Christ.” Philippians 4:6-7 (TPT)
When you sense the pressure beginning to mount – STOP – get in the WORD (start with the scripture above) until the PEACE of GOD comes over you! Then ask the Holy Spirit what was the cause of the pressure? AND, what is His way to approach that part of your preparations? Be willing for it not to look, feel, or be the way you think it should be, and TRUST that doing it HIS way will make it PERFECT!
Now, here’s a look at what is happening this week into next with our Radiant groups!
- Sunday, December 4th is our Marriage Re-Envisioned group for single women. Come join us as we learn the essentials of preparing for marriage. Whether you are single, divorced, or widowed we have a place for you! We meet every 1st & 3rd Sunday right after service in the Living Room modular. You may bring lunch with you.
- Monday, December 5th is our weekly Radiant Discipleship group led by Pastor Cathy Grigg. We are currently going through Sister Gloria Copeland’s book on the Fruit of the Spirit and meet at 12:15 pm in the Hospitality Room. This group is also available via Zoom: Radiant Discipleship Link
- Tuesday, December 6th we have our Table Talk (65 and beyond) group. This group is for women (65 years of age and beyond). We have fellowship around the Word of God and with each other. They meet at 11:00 am in the Hospitality Room every 1st Tuesday.
- Wednesday, December 7th is our Radiant Bible Study. Enjoy the Word of God, and good teaching with other women of EMIC. We meet every 1st & 3rd Wednesday of the month in the Hospitality Room at 10:30 am.
- Thursday, December 8th is our Radiant Christmas Party! Join us at 7pm in the Chapel as we celebrate the birth of our Savior. Doors will open at 6:30pm CT with festivities that will include a gingerbread church decorating contest, chili, a hot cocoa bar, Christmas cookies, and a special message from Pastor Cathy Grigg. You are invited to wear festive Christmas attire.
