Radiant Happenings! February 16th

Did you know you are a chosen treasure?? You are – take a look at this scripture!!

But you are God’s chosen treasure —priests who are kings,  a spiritual “nation” set apart as God’s devoted ones. He called you out of darkness to experience his marvelous light, and now he claims you as his very own. He did this so that you would broadcast his glorious wonders throughout the world. 1 Peter 2:9 (TPT)

But what exactly is scripture talking about when it calls us a “chosen treasure”? If we look at the Greek word for treasure in the Blue Letter Bible, it says this: “sᵊḡullâ (seg-ool-law’): jewel, peculiar (treasure), proper good, special.” The footnote in The Passion Translation has this to say, “This is taken from Ex. 19:5-6 and Mal. 3:17. The Hebrew word is sᵊḡullâ, which means “a special treasure” (possession). It is used to describe “guarded wealth,” indicating the placement of the king’s jewels, treasures, etc., in a safe, protected place because of their extraordinary value. God says that each believer is a priest and king, his unique and special treasure of great importance – a treasure above all other treasures.”

Do you see how great your value is to God! But let’s not downplay the rest of that scripture. He made us His special treasure so that we would broadcast His glorious wonders throughout the world! Take a moment and ask yourself, “Am I doing this?” Are you living your life so brightly that it is proclaiming God’s glorious wonders throughout the world? If not, get with Holy Spirit and see what you need to do, so that you can!!
