What another tremendous night of ministry that occurred at Radiant last Thursday! God showed up and showed out with His LOVE for His daughters!! The worship – uplifting, the word – encouraging, but the altar ministry time – HEALING!! If you missed it, you can watch it here: May Radiant I do want to encourage you to mark your calendars ahead of time for next month, Thursday, June 13th – there is something about being there in person!!
Now for this week's verse in Proverbs 2:
"To deliver you from the way of evil and the evil men, from men who speak perverse things and are liars," Proverbs 2:12 (AMPC)
Last week we talked about the "discretion" from verse 11. What is important to know is that you can apply that same principle of discretion to your entire life! If you begin to go in a direction that leads you away from God's will for your life, discretion will rise up and say, "That isn't the right way. Change direction and go this way."
Another good reason discretion watches over you is to deliver you from the way of evil and the evil men as verse 12 above mentions. You see, discretion resides within your spirit. And as you walk in God's wisdom, discretion will rise up to deliver you from the evil way – from any trial, temptation or obstacle that Satan may have prepared for you.
Listen to what the Kesuvim / The Writings (Mishlei/Proverbs) on pg. 18 say about verse twelve:
Vs. 12 "To rescue you from the way of evil, from a person who speaks duplicities. The evil way refers to heresy. The person who speaks duplicities, inverts the words of Torah to conform to his own opinions. (Metzudos).
The Vilna Gaon differentiates between being evil and being duplicitous: An evil way refers to those who are evil in both word and intent. Duplicitous people pay lip service to their friends' welfare, but they harbor evil in their hearts.
Now, here’s a look at what is happening this week into next with our Radiant groups!
- Thursday, May 16th is our monthly #MomLife group's playdate. If you are a mother with children elementary age or younger, join us from 10:30am-noon at the Rhome Family Park!
- Thursday, May 16th is our monthly Women's Business Group meeting at 7pm in the Hospitality Room. Topic: Color Me Curious about Business Branding
Now is the time to learn how to incorporate your business colors and/or logos into your wardrobe. Lauryn Bray will share ideas on how you can take your business colors and help reinforce your branding. Learn how to stand out amongst the crowd and have a cohesive look in your business. We will have discussion time to share tips with each other as well. - Sunday, May 19th is when Bridge Moms meet to cook the meal for our Bridge Young Adults group. We cook every 1st & 3rd Sunday. 2:30pm-6:30pm / Prep to clean up. This group requires a food handlers license (license fee reimbursed upon completion). - Monday, May 20th we have our Table Talk (65 and Beyond) group. This group is for women (65 years of age and beyond). We have fellowship around the Word of God and with each other. They meet at 11:30 pm at Cattlemen's Reserve within Partner Services Center every 3rd Monday.
- Monday, May 20th is our weekly Radiant Discipleship group led by Pastor Cathy Grigg. Join us as we study Dr. Bill Winston's teaching on Living In The Fourth Dimension! We meet at 12:15 pm in the Hospitality Room. This group is also available via Zoom! Click here to register!
- Thursday, May 23rd is our monthly Abiding Wives group. This is a group for married women to fellowship and connect with each other as we gather to pray for our husbands. We meet every 4th Thursday of the month at a private home, beginning at 7 pm. You will need to email women@emic.org to get the address.
