WE ARE FORGED IN FAITH!
Men, what a powerful time we had as we continue our Total Immersion in God’s Word series – From the Milk to the Meat – Growing into Spiritual Maturity!
During our September Men’s Breakfast, Josh Gonzalez brought a powerful word when he shared “AS ONE We Love”. His notes are included in this blog.
Heb 13:1 Let Brotherly love continue.
John 13:34-35“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: Just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
In John 13:34 Jesus says to love one another “Just as I have loved you”. Loving as Jesus loves is the most mature level of love we can achieve. Maturing in and walking in this level of love brings us into Christ’s image – who IS LOVE.
This type of love takes faith to walk in. Brother Copeland says:
“we have come to know the love of God when we were saved but we must now BELIEVE that He loves us without doubting according to 1 John 4:16”.
1Jn 4:16 So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.
Abiding in love by faith keeps us in Christ with the ability to love others through Christ.
In John 8:31, Jesus says, “If you abide in My Word you ARE My disciple” and in John 13:35, Jesus said that others will “KNOW we are His disciples by our love for one another”. Here we see the power of abiding in His Word to bring about the corresponding action of love as a testimony of being His disciples replicating Him to the world.
Thank You Lord for the power of Your Word that compels us to love!
Men, unified faith is the incubator for revival!
