“In today’s world, there is a push to devalue, highlight error and find scandal with ministers. The supposed purpose is to expose and confront because people must truly be misled and so these social justice warriors are running around trying to find anything they can to expose anyone preaching the gospel and define that all preachers should live with one nostril above poverty.” – Ps. Dave Mitchell
This is a subversion of the importance, value and blessing that comes from biblical honor.
Men, during our April Men’s Breakfast we discussed the perversion of honor today and the biblical command and value of honor that provides direction, protection and correction through the words of life our leaders and pastors have for us.
1 Timothy 5:17 KJV “Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.”
Please see the men’s breakfast video and Ps. Dave’s teaching attached below and let’s be unified in being men of honor by honoring others.
7 Holy Habits (disciplines) to grow into Mature Manhood
- Increase your daily intake of God’s Word. Starting your day in the Word.
- Guard your heart, especially against offense.
- Increase your prayer life, praying intentionally rather than routinely.
- Keep your heart sensitive to the Holy Spirit through obedience to the Word and His promptings.
- Choose godly wisdom over neutral or emotionally-driven options.
- Practice fasting as a regular spiritual discipline.
- Look for opportunities to serve, disciple, and mentor others.
