Seek Ye First the Kingdom

“In all things – Seek ye first the kingdom.”

-Pastor Terri Pearsons

Men, are you seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness?

Too often we enter into prayer by first bringing our list of needs and we may even do so believing, by faith, that God will answer our needs. But, this is not the order of approach we must take for any need or situation. Firstly, our needs are not a surprise to God.

Matthew 6:31  Therefore do not be anxious, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?'

Matthew 6:32  For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.

Jesus is telling us that God knows what our needs are and has them covered. He doesn’t want us to focus on and be distracted by our needs but to focus on Him and the kingdom assignment He has for us, and He will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory (Phil 4:19).

Matthew 6:33  But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

“Jesus never prayed the problem – He sought the kingdom” – Ps. Al

Luke 22:42  saying, "Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done."

When Jesus was faced with His greatest challenge, He prayed that not His will but God’s will be done. When we seek God’s will we are seeking His kingdom answers and His righteousness to be done in our lives – not our own ideas of what’s right.

When Jesus taught us how to pray, He gave us the pattern for seeking the kingdom, again teaching us not to focus on our needs:

Mat 6:8-10 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. Pray then like this: "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.

Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

He taught us to pray His kingdom come – His kingdom solutions and righteousness, containing the wisdom and power we need and His will, once again be done in our lives.

The kingdom of God has a place.

The other thing to remember is that His kingdom has a place. Pastor Terri shared that when we pray, we need to get to that place where we drop down into our spirit. That is where the answers and the breakthroughs are contained. Why is that? The answer is in Luke 17:20-21 below:

Luke 17:20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:

Luke 17:21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

Jesus said the kingdom of God is IN US! When we drop down into the spirit by praying in the spirit and reach that place in agreement with the Holy Spirit that lives in us, He makes alive our minds with the answers we need for all things perfectly aligned with His will and His righteousness!

Men, unified faith is the incubator for revival!

Let’s continue to join our faith in prayer for the Key Prayer Points below that will continue throughout the month.

  • That the men of EMIC and the church at large make God’s Word final authority in 2023
  • That our Built to Last – Legacy of Faith Men’s Conference be covered in grace and by the power of God to change men’s lives towards Jesus.
  • That Pastor George and Pastor Terri and Brother and Sister Copeland are renewed as Eagles in youthfulness, health and utterance in the Holy Spirit
  • Complete healing for our church family members that are overcoming.
  • Greater health, prosperity and an increased anointing for our congregation and partners in 2023
  • Abortion to be abolished at every state level

There are active opportunities to be involved in affecting each one of these areas here at EMIC, our community, schools and patriotic involvement and through effective faith-filled prayers.
