Open The Prison Doors

Hebrews 13:1-3 TPT “No matter what, make room in your heart to love every believer. And show hospitality to strangers, for they may be angels from God showing up as your guests. Identify with those who are in prison as though you were there suffering with them, and those who are mistreated as if you could feel their pain.”

When the period of shelter in place began in 2020 during the COVID pandemic, families and businesses were not the only things affected; it completely shut the doors to onsite prison ministry. Only recently have some prisons allowed group services to be held in person. But they are still not open to individual ministry inside the units.

It’s been 3 years now since we’ve been able to take a group of volunteers inside to share Jesus with these inmates. There are currently more than 2 million incarcerated here in the United States. This is one of the largest groups of unchurched people and we’ve been unable to reach them in person for so long now. But the Lord is still working in the prisons!

We need to continually be praying for our prison ministry. We believe the doors will be open to us soon but until then, our team members on the KCM Prayer Lines and in the KCM Mail Department have never stopped corresponding with these inmates.

Being able to utilize Every Available Voice has never been more important than it is now. We’re so thankful that God still gives us open doors for ministry when the world has been successful in shutting others.

Please partner with us by praying for the prison doors to be opened once again to ministry, for the hearts of the inmates to be ready to receive, and for the willingness of the prison staff to accommodate ministers and volunteers. It’s time to bring VICTORY once again to the incarcerated!

Biblical word definitions in the Greek and in Hebrew often reveal different intended descriptions than what we translate in our own English language definitions. One example of that is believing that kindness reflects niceness or niceties in the Bible and attaching that description to the character of Jesus. The problem with that is that there is no scripture identifying Jesus as nice but instead – kind. Kindness in the Greek is the word “chrestos” which is defined as: fit for use and virtuous. “Or do you not presume on the riches of His kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing God’s kindness is meant to lead you to repentance” Romans 2:4 ESV The kindness of God has a goal: to develop you, transform you, correct you and empower you. Kindness teaches but niceness appeases. If Jesus wanted to be nice, He would have calmed the storm before He asked Peter to step out of the boat and walk on the water. Instead, it was the kindness of Jesus extending His hand to Peter for the purpose of developing his faith during the storm. “He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” Micah 6:8 ESV We can see here that justice and humility are grouped with kindness. Being nice can subvert justice from a place of not getting involved but kindness demands action for the greater good. Please see the men’s breakfast video and Ps. “The chaos of the end times will require the spiritual focus of disciplined men” -Ps. Al Men, during our March Men’s Breakfast we discussed the need to increase good godly habits in order to grow as men of God so that we will better hear Him and take on His image. “A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls.” Proverbs 25:28 ESV Developing a disciplined life requires us to not just stop doing unfruitful things but also filling those voids with doing things that edify and mature you in Christ. 7 Holy Habits (disciplines) to grow into Mature Manhood Increase your daily intake of God’s Word. Starting your day in the Word. Guard your heart, especially against offense. Increase your prayer life, praying intentionally rather than routinely.
