October Theme: Something Special
One of our core values at EMIC is: we protect the anointing. Superkids from babies to 5th grade will learn about this important core value during the month of October. Each one of our children has been given a special anointing and gift from God. It’s important that they know how to protect the anointing on their lives and the lives of others. This month, Superkids will learn what the anointing is, the importance of it, and how it is meant to be used for God’s glory and to help others. As parents, we need to recognize the anointing on our children and help them steward it well. One way to do this is to encourage your child to learn the monthly memory verse!
Weekly Topics:
- October 6th – You have something special: Jesus & the Scroll (Luke 4)
- October 13th – You can do something special: Samuel Hears God’s Voice (1 Samuel 3)
- October 20th – Others have something special: David and Jonathan (1 Samuel 18)
- October 27th – We can do something special: Building the Wall (Nehemiah 4)

Volunteer of the Month:
Karise Robinson
Karise serves faithfully in our 3-4 Year-Old class. She communicates extremely well with our Jr. Superkids and always does a wonderful job teaching the lessons during class. She loves each of our Jr. Superkids so well, and it shows by how willing she is to step in at the last minute and serve with a smile. She is a blessing in many ways to our Jr. Superkids and our team, and we are blessed to have her on our team!
Radiant:
Radiant is happening on Thursday, October 10th. We will have children’s ministry available for birth – 5th grade! Doors open at 6:30pm. Dinner will be provided.
Couple’s Fellowship:
Couple’s fellowship is taking place on Friday, October 4th at 7pm. We will have children’s ministry available for birth-5th grade. Superkid classroom doors open at 6:30pm. Dinner will be provided for your children.
Dance Practice:
If your child is part of the Superkid dance team, we have dance practice available for them on Tuesday, October 22nd from 4:30pm-5:30pm in the SKA studios.
Volunteer Training:
If you volunteer with Superkid Academy (birth – 5th grade), we are having our fall crew training on Sunday, October 27th directly after service in the SKA studios. Lunch and childcare will be provided.
Meet the Student Ministries Music Minister:
Melissa is our Student Ministries Music Minister. She works with the SKA Choir and worship team to disciple children on what worship is and teaches them how to express their worship through music by using their voices. Her team meets with SKA Choir members once a month to go over a lesson about what and why they are singing the selected songs for that month. She trains them on how and when to sing in a choir setting. Lastly, she instructs the Superkids in practical ways on how to worship the Lord in their personal lives. We are so thankful for all that Melissa pours into the lives of our Superkids!
Fall Fest:
Our annual fall fest is happening on Thursday, October 31st. We will have fun fall activities, games, candy, costume contests and much more! Check out emic.org for more information and opportunities to get involved!
