Commander’s Corner:
In the faith lab, we are discovering what faith is and how it works! This week our topic is an EXPLOSION of Belief! Superkids will learn about the time that Abraham’s faith was tested when God told him to sacrifice his only son, Isaac. Even though this was difficult to do, Abraham stayed in faith knowing that God was able to raise Isaac from the dead. It’s important to instill obedience to the Lord in our children, no matter how difficult it may seem. When we walk in obedience, we can believe Him for the miraculous outcome.
During our Wednesday night series, our 1st-5th graders are still reaching for GOLD! We are learning about the champions of faith. This week, we are focusing on the character of a champion. The Superkids will learn about having self-control, even in difficult situations. We will teach them the story of when Peter did not use self-control and cut off the high priest servant’s ear. Even though Peter lacked self-control, we see the character and example of Jesus when He reached out and healed His enemy. It’s important that we teach our children what Jesus asks us to do: love our enemies and pray for those who despitefully use us and say all manner of evil against us. When our kids are taught strong character from the Word of God, it produces strong faith!
Our Jr Superkids will learn all about God’s Word as well! Birth-kindergarten will learn how to pray for others. I encourage you to take time before bedtime to ask your child to pray for their friends and family members.
Vacation Bible School:
Our theme this year is BLAST OFF WITH FAITH! 1 John 5:4 says, “This is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith.” This year during VBS we are going to BLAST OFF with the Word of God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit! Join us for a 3-day event filled with out of this world activities! Each day, your child will get to participate in chapel, worship, arts & crafts, snacks, space games, and of course science experiments! Come out and join us as we travel through space together!
