Pastor George Pearsons

Sunday Outline – March 5, 2023

Pastors George & Terri are back from a month sabbatical. Yay!!! Pastor George ministered, “Things We’ve Never Seen.”

This past February 8th, the Asbury University revival began, and since, the revival has been sweeping across the states, and now the world, as parts of Europe is being touched by Holy Ghost.

Pastor George shared there are reports of this revival reaching the Upper Room in Jerusalem.

Pastor George shared about the Jesus revolution back in the 70’s and how this impacted his life, resulting in his college roommates along with his salvation.   He asked if we have viewed the movie, “The Jesus Revolution.”

The Jesus Revolution – trailer

A move of God is designed to get people caught up into Jesus, the reviving of people in dead churches.

It is about a new blowing (moving) of Holy Spirit through us.  Holy Spirit, who is part of the trinity hasn’t changed in this season, but how He operates changes as we respond.

This outpouring is not limited in scope to a single generation like it was in the 70’s (primarily those who were 19-21 years old). This sweeping is affecting all generations!

During the time off, Pastor George shared that he “redug the wells of his heritage.”

Genesis 26:18; (CSB)

“Isaac reopened the wells that had been dug in the days of his father Abraham and that the Philistines had stopped up after Abraham died. He gave them the same names his father had given them.”

Prophetic words point to a place in time that is up ahead.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18; (CSB)

“Rejoice always, pray constantly, give thanks in everything; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

v. 20 “Don’t despise prophesies.”

How do you hold onto prophecies? Are you allowing the devil to cover them over with his dirt; so that you forget about them, or you are too busy to be looking to them. It’s time to redig them.

If I went to a local mall, most mall entrances place a map with a sign that says, “You are Here.”  Do you know where you are at?  The revival capital of the World!

Acts 2: This prophecy is more alive – redigging the wells.

2:1-2; (CSB)

“When the day of Pentecost had arrived, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like that of a violent rushing wind came from heaven, and it filled the whole house where they were staying.”

The glory of God is filling this house. Things that God wants to do in us, through us, and for us.

2:3-4, 12-13, 17-21

“They saw tongues like flames of fire that separated and rested on each one of them. Then they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different tongues, as the Spirit enabled them. They were all astounded and perplexed, saying to one another, “What does this mean?” But some sneered and said, “They’re drunk on new wine.””

This is what was spoken through the prophet Joel:

And it will be in the last days, says God, that I will pour out my Spirit on all people; then your sons and your daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams.

I will even pour out my Spirit on my servants in those days, both men and women and they will prophesy.

I will display wonders in the heaven above and signs on the earth below: blood and fire and a cloud of smoke.

The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the great and glorious day of the Lord comes.

Then everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

Smoke = the glory of God

This is the beginning of what was spoken by the prophet.

Beginning…  we are there right now.

God is pouring His Spirit upon all flesh –

neighbors, relatives, friends – ALL flesh.

Joel 2:21-30; (CSB)

“Don’t be afraid, land; rejoice and be glad, for the Lord has done astonishing things.

22 Don’t be afraid, wild animals, for the wilderness pastures have turned green, the trees bear their fruit, and the fig tree and grapevine yield their riches.

23 Children of Zion, rejoice and be glad in the Lord your God, because he gives you the autumn rain for your vindication.24 The threshing floors will be full of grain, and the vats will overflow with new wine and fresh oil.

25 I will repay you for the years that the swarming locust ate, the young locust, the destroying locust, and the devouring locust—my great army that I sent against you.

26 You will have plenty to eat and be satisfied. You will praise the name of the Lord your God, who has dealt wondrously with you. My people will never again be put to shame.

27 You will know that I am present in Israel and that I am the Lord your God,

and there is no other. My people will never again be put to shame.

28 After this I will pour out my Spirit on all humanity; then your sons and your daughters will prophesy, your old men will have dreams, and your young men will see visions.

29 I will even pour out my Spirit on the male and female slaves in those days.

30 I will display wonders in the heavens and on the earth: blood, fire, and columns of smoke.”

This is where we are today.

Fear not, for the Lord is doing great things – this is God’s calendar, and it is for us now.

  • v.23 Zion is the church = the body of Christ
  • v.23 First rain and latter rain in their first month = flood stage
  • v.24 Floors = church
  • v.25 I will restore to you the years that have been taken by worms & bugs eating
  • v.30 Blood, fire and pillar of smoke – the glory of God

Former rain = everything that happened in the first covenant including the ministry of Jesus.

Latter rain = Acts chapter 2 up to now

And God has combined these two together

Isaiah 60:1-3; (CSB)

“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord shines over you.

For look, darkness will cover the earth, and total darkness the peoples; but the Lord will shine over you, and his glory will appear over you.

Nations will come to your light, and kings to your shining brightness.”

Glory = Anything and everything you need. It is the presence of God with everything good.
